The 2024/2025 FAFSA is in the process of being redesigned to align with the Federal FAFSA Simplification Act. This will change some of the terminology and release dates for the upcoming years.

The Federal Government expects to release the FAFSA to allow student applications in December. This is a change from previous years when students could apply for federal aid in October. The application will have fewer questions involved and will directly link with the IRS (TAX records), Social Security (social security number verification), and Veteran Affairs (confirm Veteran Status).

The process should be much smoother for the student and their family to complete the application. Hocking College will have Financial Aid assistance events in January and February for students and their families to receive help with this new process.
