National Bowhunting Championship Returns to Hocking College
Hocking College will host the International Bowhunting Organization's National Championship Triple Crown Series for another year this July, bringing top archers from across the country to Nelsonville for one of the biggest 3-D archery tournaments of the season.
The multi-day event runs Wednesday, July 9 through Saturday, July 12 at Hocking College, 3301 Hocking Parkway.
Now in its 42nd year, the IBO is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting bowhunting and 3-D archery through a national series of competitions. The Triple Crown includes three tournaments held in different states, each following a consistent set of rules and divisions. This stop is the third leg of the series.
Archers compete in a variety of categories based on age, gender and equipment, with scores from each leg combined to determine national champions.
Local vendors and food trucks will be on site for attendees. The event is open to the public, though it is not a traditional spectator sport. Those who want to watch the competition should plan to walk the outdoor course alongside competitors.
