Hocking College Women’s Basketball Earns Hard-Fought 61–53 Win at Miami Hamilton

Hamilton, OH – November 12, 2025 — The Hocking College women’s basketball team continued their strong start to the season with a 61–53 road win over Miami Hamilton University on Tuesday night. The Hawks used a combination of balanced scoring, defensive intensity, and late-game composure to secure the victory.
Sophomore forward Carmyn Woods led the charge with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks, while sophomore guard Hazely Wagner turned in a standout performance with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks.
“Our defense and composure down the stretch made the difference,” said Head Coach Andrew Brown. Freshman guard Aubriona Benjamin provided a major spark off the bench, finishing with 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. In the paint, Hawa Ba anchored the defense with 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 assists, helping the Hawks limit Miami Hamilton’s second-chance opportunities.
The Hawks’ starting lineup of Lilly Weaver, Gianna Boyce, Carmyn Woods, Hawa Ba, and Hazely Wagner established the early tone. Weaver contributed 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals, while Boyce added 6 points and solid perimeter defense.
Additional contributions came from Tori Rose (3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block) and Aliyah Brock (4 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals), whose hustle plays helped Hocking maintain control in the final minutes.
Hocking College’s defensive intensity forced key turnovers and fueled a transition attack that kept Miami Hamilton on its heels. The Hawks led narrowly at halftime and used a strong 4th quarter finish to secure the road victory.
