Hocking College students earn national recognition through Fashion Scholarship Fund
Two Hocking College students are gaining national recognition and new career opportunities through one of the fashion industry’s leading student programs.
Ameerah Attar and Courtney Cole have been selected as 2026 Community College Scholars by the Fashion Scholarship Fund, a national nonprofit that supports students pursuing careers in fashion, merchandising, marketing and business.
The program is highly competitive. This year, FSF received more than 100 applications from students across 14 community colleges, ultimately selecting just 32 scholars for the 2026 class!
As part of the award, Attar and Cole will each receive a $5,000 scholarship along with access to a range of professional development opportunities. These include mentorship from industry professionals, participation in the FSF Virtual Summer Scholar Series and an all-expense-paid immersive experience this July in California or New York City.
That immersive experience gives students the chance to connect directly with industry leaders, explore career pathways and gain insight into the fast-paced world of fashion.
Programs like this play a key role in helping community college students build meaningful careers. Through financial support, networking and real-world exposure, FSF is working to expand access and create opportunities for the next generation of fashion professionals.
