The Appalachian Artificial Intelligence Conference is coming to Hocking College on November 5, 2025. This one-day event examines how AI can currently benefit Appalachian communities, not just someday. We will dig into practical uses in classrooms, clinics, shop floors, banks, and local government, with a clear through line around digital trust and closing gaps for rural learners and workers.
The morning begins with registration and breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by a welcome and an overview of the new partnership between Hocking College and AI OWL. Two sessions, then move us into the classroom. First, AI in the English classroom as a tool for instruction. Next, a recap of Hocking’s first eight weeks with embedded AI and what faculty are learning.
After a lunch keynote, we switch to TED-style talks. Topics include AI and industry partnerships, growing ethical implications, manufacturing, healthcare’s AI promise, and AI in banking. We close with takeaways you can bring back to your campus, agency, or business.
Our goal is simple. Help organizations across Appalachia use AI to work smarter, serve people better, and reduce disparities in health, education, and governance. Save the date, bring your questions, and leave with ideas you can put to work the next day.
